Accolades & Awards – Who Is the Best Urologist in Austin?
Dr. Koushik Shaw has been practicing medicine for over 15 years and in that time has developed a reputation as a compassionate, insightful physician and one of the best urologists in Austin and Central Texas. Dr. Lawrence Tsai joined the practice in 2019, bringing with him expertise in advanced robotic and minimally-invasive procedures.
Appointments
A respected voice in the Austin medical community, Dr. Shaw’s years of experience and his expertise have led to several high profile appointments. He served as the Chief of Staff at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center. As an active member of the urologic community in Austin, Dr. Shaw has served as co-president of Austin Urologic Society and on the society’s education committee. He has also served as the assistant director of the Austin Diagnostic Clinic Surgical Center.
Educating Austin
Dr. Shaw believes that education is one of the best ways to promote overall wellness and routinely speaks to both lay people and other physicians about urological issues. He has appeared on local ABC, CBS, and NBC stations and you can find him at health fairs and expos across Central Texas.
Dr. Shaw is the author of “The Ultimate Guide to Finding the Right Job after Residency,” a resource for new physicians.

Dr. Shaw has received numerous honors over the course of his career, but he’s most proud of the ones awarded by his patients, including a 2014 Patients’ Choice Award and a 2017 People Love Us On Yelp Award.
