The Urolift
A Revolutionary Solution to a Common Problem

The Austin Urology Institute’s commitment to providing state of the art procedures extends into all aspects of urologic health. The Urolift procedure is a dramatic leap forward in treating urinary blockage from enlarged prostate.

What
Urolift Solves

Throughout a man’s life, his prostate may become larger. This condition, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common urological condition caused by the non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland in aging men.

When the enlargement causes pressure on the urethra, a wide range of painful or uncomfortable symptoms can occur. Learn more about BPH here.

Fortunately, while there are various medicinal and surgical treatments for BPH, the least invasive bridge between prescriptions and surgery being the UroLift.

Treatment with the UroLift® System is typically a one-time, outpatient procedure to treat BPH and relieve symptoms rapidly. It’s an excellent alternative to more invasive surgeries or an ongoing need for medication.

If you have frequent urination day and night, you’re not alone. Speak to someone who’s been through it before.

Surpassing Surgical Expectations

The UroLift procedure is the placement of a permanent device in the prostate so it no longer blocks the urethra. It’s the only treatment of BPH that doesn’t require any cutting, heating, or removal of tissue. Patients return home the same day as the surgery without a catheter, and without the recovery time needed for other surgeries.

Enlarged Prostate

An enlarged prostate can narrow or even block the urethra.

Step 1

The UroLift Delivery Device is placed through the obstructed urethra to access the enlarged prostate.

Step 2

Small UroLift Implants are permanently placed to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way and increase the opening of the urethra.

Step 3

The UroLift Delivery Device is removed, leaving an open urethra designed to provide symptom relief.

Prostate surgery doesn’t have to mean staying off your feet (or out of the bedroom)

Compared to older procedures, UroLift…

  • Is less invasive
  • Does not cause new onset, sustained erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction
  • Is long-lasting
  • Provides rapid relief of your symptoms

Our goal is to get you to a greater quality of life as quickly as possible.
