Do Vasectomies Lower Testosterone?

Will a Vasectomy Lower Testosterone? Science has the Answers

We know that a vasectomy alters the inner-machinations of the biological processes that make pregnancy possible, but does it affect the levels of testosterone in men? Several studies have been conducted over the last several decades to answer this question. 

A 2018 study published in the National Library of Medicine found that vasectomies are not shown to have any negative effect on testosterone in men, nor do vasectomies cause any other hormonal changes or imbalances post-procedure. The study also found no correlation between vasectomy and higher PSA levels. 

Between the vasectomy and non-vasectomy groups, researchers did find increased instances of depression and other psychological issues in those men sampled who had had a vasectomy. However, these researchers concluded that it is more likely that lifestyle, diet, and cultural differences are the cause of these issues, rather than the vasectomy itself.

Does a Vasectomy Reduce Testosterone? Nope!
