Telemedicine allows patients to visit with Dr. Shaw and the Austin Urology Institute team remotely, using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video chat. While telemedicine can’t totally replace in-person visits, it can be a great supplement to your care plan – particularly for patients who live very far away, in rural areas or have limited mobility.
We just launched the telemedicine program this spring and have already “seen” two patients – one from the Texas panhandle and another from rural Oklahoma.
