Apifiny non-PSA Blood Test is a new prostate cancer diagnostic technology. This simple test measures unique biomarker (autoantibodies) proteins in the blood that are generated by a man’s immune system against cancer in prostate tissue. Apifiny helps rule in/out whether a patient might need further testing such as a biopsy.
Together with a prostate exam and PSA, Apifany represents the first of a new class of tests that utilize prostate cancer antibodies to help us identify which patients are at high risk for prostate cancer and require further testing, while reducing the number of unnecessary prostate biopsies and interventions on patients who might not need further treatment.
